I guess you are now decided to add an affiliate link to your site and has chosen Awin as your affiliate program.

Let’s first have a short details about Awin.
The Awin Group Story
Awin started on 2017 when Zanox and Affiliate Window consolidated, both of which had been driving sales for affiliate partners since 2000. Zanox started in German, whereas Affiliate Window started as a small operation in UK.
In 2017, Awin acquired one of North America’s largest platforms, ShareASale and considered as leading network in the US.
Now, let’s move on the signing up of your affiliate program.
How do I Sign Up for Awin Affiliate Program?
Go to Awin.com and click sign up as a publisher.
You will be redirected to a page which will need you to update the following details:
- Account Setup – You have to fill up here you personal information such as your Company name, Name, Email and other relevant information.
- Promotional Type – Your way or type of promotion will be assessed here. This helps Awin to understand how you will be promoting the Advertisers on their site.
- Promotional Space – Here you have to include the website or channel link that you will be using.
- Verification – This is the part wherein you have to verify your account in Awin, through your gmail.
Now for Account Setup, fill in the personal information like company name, tax residency, first name, last name, email address and other details.
- Company Name – You can write your Company name or your website name here
- Tax Residency – This is usually certified by a local tax authority when you registered your business. Please note that Awin might require you to prove the registration of your tax residency if tax authorities ask for further documentation.

Once you have filled up all the necessary information click “Next Step”. Now, you need to fill up this section to help Awin assess how you’re going to promote advertiser’s products.
For Promotional Type, this is split between two sections:
- Primary Region – The country you are mainly serving or receiving your traffic from.
- Promotional Type – You have to select here the type of promotion that best describes your online activity. This allows advertisers find relevant publisher in Awin. You also have to select one as your “Primary Promotional Type”, refer below for the details:

You might notice that “Display” is somewhat similar with “Content”, just bear in mind that most of the cases you are part of the Content Promotional Type unless you are buying something from others then that’s the time that you have to classify yourself as part of Display Promotional Type.

You can select more than one from any of the above sub-categories of promotional type. As mentioned above, ensure to select your “Primary Promotional Type” among the above sub-categories.

Once you have selected your Primary Region, Promotional type and Primary Promotional Type, click “Next Step”.
You need to add the URL of your website then add a description on what it is about.
As for the sectors, just select the one that best describes your niche.
Lastly, the Verification section.
In this section you need to include your address, postal code and telephone number. You also have to select whether you will use the following:
- Invitation code – This is given out by advertisers who wish to invite specific publishers to their program within Awin. If you have not been given an invitation code by an advertiser.
- Online Payment – You need to pay $1.00 as a deposit and this will be used by Awin for verification purposes.
Note that the sum of $1.00 will be deducted to your credit card and if approved, this will be credited back to your publisher account and paid back to you as part of your first commission payment.
Next is tick the box to agree with the terms and conditions of Awin, then, click “Join Our Network”.
After this, you will receive 2 emails from Awin;
1) Verification of your email address and,
2) Confirmation of application. Your application is still being check and process at this stage, you still need to wait for the approval of your application. The approval of your application usually takes within 48 hours.
How does Awin Payment Works?
The payment process works as follow:
- A transaction is made and tracked in the Awin interface. (The transaction will be recorded as Pending in the Awin interface.)
- The advertiser reviews the transaction and either approves or denies it. Approved transactions will be marked as Uncleared, meaning that while the transaction is approved, the advertiser has not yet paid Awin.
(The average approval time for transactions is 30-45 days. Some advertisers like hotels will only confirm a transaction once the hotel stay is complete.) - Once the advertiser pays Awin for the transaction, it will be marked as Cleared. Awin will pay the publisher on the next payment day, either the 1st or the 15th.
The payment day will depend on the payment frequency you selected in your payment details, either once or twice each month.
(You will also only be paid if you have met your minimum payment threshold. The network minimum is $20, but you can choose to set this higher.)
