Newbie Consideration: Qualifying Purchase of Amazon Associate program
Anyone can sign-up and apply to Amazon Associate, however, you have to reached the required Qualifying Purchases to Amazon within 180 days from sign-up date or the affiliate links provided by Amazon will be cancelled.
I noted that you need to have at least 3 sales through your affiliate link in order to meet this requirement.
I totally suggest that you should focus first in gaining some traffic on your site before adding any affiliate links . This is to avoid being cancelled due to failing to meet any qualifying purchase similar to this.
